The Gömböc is the first known convex, homogeneous body with just two equilibrium points, one stable and one unstable.
The existence of such objects was conjectured by V. Arnold in 1995, and the first one was discovered in 2006 by Gábor Domokos and Péter Várkony.
The Göttingen model has number 1737 (foundation date of the University) and the IHP model has number 1928 (foundation date of Institute).
