A nomogram (from Greek νόμος, "law" and γραμμή, "line"), also called a nomograph, alignment chart, or abaque, is a graphical calculating device, a two-dimensional diagram designed to allow the approximate graphical computation of a mathematical function.

The nomograms in this collection were introduced by the meteorologist Georg Stüwe, who led from 1924 to 1935 the meteorological service in Frankfurt am Main. They served to represent the measurements from weather balloons.

They were printed for the DWD (Deutscher Wetterdienst Offenbach/Main), and gifted to the collection by Rainer Nölle in 2021.
